Biographies

Elliott Markow - Violinist

Violinist Elliott Markow is a native of the Boston area who has studied with
William Kroll, Emanual Borok, Berl Senofsky, and Jascha Heifetz. He is a
graduate of Boston University, where he attended on a four-year merit
scholarship.

While at Boston University, Mr. Markow joined the Boston Pops Esplanade
Orchestra, and was a substitute member of the Boston Symphony/Boston Pops
Orchestras.
He was a member of the New Orleans Symphony for six years, where he
performed in the First Violin Section, Viola Section, and as acting Assistant
Concertmaster.

He has appeared extensively in solo, chamber music, and orchestral
performances in the New England, Florida/Gulf Coast, Southern California, and
the New Orleans areas.

In addition to his position as Concertmaster of the New Hampshire
Philharmonic Orchestra, Mr. Markow is also Concertmaster of the Granite State
Symphony Orchestra and the Granite State Opera Orchestra.

He is on the faculty of the Manchester Community Music School, the University
of Massachusetts at Lowell, and St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, and
previously taught violin and viola at the University of New Orleans and
Tulane University.


Nicholas S. Zaricki - Executive Director of the NHPO

Nicholas S. Zaricki is the Executive Director for the New Hampshire
Philharmonic Orchestra. A native of Manchester, New Hampshire, Mr. Zaricki
attended the University of New Hampshire, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Music Education and again in 1982 with a Master of Arts
degree in Music History.

Mr. Zaricki was a member United States Air Force Band Program from 1978 to
2001. During his Air Force career, Mr. Zaricki served as a trumpet player,
composer/arranger, conductor and band manager. He has had assignments in New
Hampshire, Louisiana, Massachusetts and Japan.

Mr. Zaricki has served as a guest conductor for the Providence College Band
Festival and the New Hampshire Junior High Southeast District Music Festival
and as an adjudicator for Great East Music Festivals. In addition to his
love of music, he is a certified ski instructor and enjoys fishing, camping,
and hiking. He and his family live in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
